Send Users a Message with EveryoneSocial
Messages are a powerful tool to engage with registered users in EveryoneSocial. Whether it’s to deliver time-sensitive information, important updates, or simple teasers, communicating with Messages ensures you target the right audience to deliver one-time messages via in-app notifications.

What are messages
Messages are targeted, short-form communications sent to users when using EveryoneSocial. Messages are sent using Segments and appear as an in-app notification. These notifications are delivered directly within the app and are designed to provide users real-time updates and alerts about new content, FYIs, or other relevant information.
Messages contain a single line of text, which can include emojis and may be clickable if the admin includes a URL. Admins can send Messages immediately, schedule them for later, and send an email with the in-app notification. An email has to accompany an in-app Message.

Message purposes
Use Messages to send targeted announcements to a specific user segment.
- Create simple teasers.
- Announce a new Group.
- Drive traffic to outside URLs, such as “Click here to watch our CEO on marketwatch.”

Replace using the important post banner.
Makes posts stand out from the standard “x has posted an important post.”

Improve user experience and onboarding.
For example, create a Group for Moderators that can be segmented and then send Messages to them.
Create a Message
Create the Message to send to users in-app.
- Go to Admin > Messages.
- Select the user Segment.

Enter notification text.
Optional: Enter a URL to direct notifications to a web address.
Optional: Select "Schedule for later" and select a date and time to send the notification. Leave blank to send the Message immediately.Optional: Select "Also send email notifications" to send an email to the Segment. Learn more about emails in the following section.
- Click Save.

Send an accompanying email
Messages have an optional email that accompanies the in-app notification. To activate the email option, select Also send email notifications.
Emails are rich-text, which provides options to personalize the email.

Here is a list of formatting options available in the editor:

🔹 Note: Message emails will not contain the Workspace logo or footer to unsubscribe from email messages.

Data
The best way to review message click rates is to use tracking links for the in-app notification’s URL and email hyperlinks. Data is not tracked within EveryoneSocial’s analytics for Messages.
