User Management & Express Activation

In this article, we will take a closer look at how to activate and manage your team's accounts using the admin console. You'll learn about the account activation flow, how to navigate the user management tab, and how to leverage Express Activation to get your team up and running quickly.

Understanding the Account Activation Flow

To successfully onboard users, they need to complete the four steps in the onboarding flow:

  1. Agree to User Terms and Conditions: Users must accept the terms and conditions and enter their full name. If you have a social media policy, it can also be appended here.
  2. Select Department and Location: Users will select their department and location from a customized list that you, as an admin, have configured in the platform settings.
  3. Connect Social Accounts: The most crucial step is for users to connect their social accounts, such as LinkedIn or X. EveryoneSocial doesn’t store login credentials but facilitates the connection securely through a pop-up window. Users must connect at least one account and click "Done for Now" to proceed.
  4. Share the First Post: The final step requires users to share their first post. A 90-second video is available at this step to guide them, which is a great self-serve resource. Users can also upload a profile image and add a job title, both of which can contribute to leaderboard points.

Once these steps are completed, users will appear in the "Onboarded" tab. If they encounter any issues and do not complete all steps, they will be listed under the "Partially Onboarded" tab. As an admin, you can track their progress and collaborate with department leaders to encourage completion.

Using Express Activation

Express Activation is a streamlined way to get your team to connect or activate their accounts in just 30 seconds. This method allows the platform to start capturing external engagement data without immediately granting users full access to EveryoneSocial.

  • How It Works: Employees visit a landing page where they enter their email and authenticate with LinkedIn or X. This process does not grant access to content or the platform until you decide to provide it.
  • Managing Access: After Express Activation, employees appear under a specific tab where you can decide, with a thumbs up or down, whether to grant them full access to the platform and its content.

This tool is particularly useful for activating employees quickly and starting data collection, which is crucial for running an effective advocacy program.

Navigating the User Management Tab

The User Management tab is a powerful tool to help you manage your team effectively:

  • Identify Active Users: The Identify tab helps you find users who have been most active on social media recently. This feature allows you to prioritize executives and influencers for Express Activation, ensuring that high-impact users are quickly onboarded.
  • Managing Suspended Users: If a user leaves the company or no longer wishes to participate in the program, you can suspend their account by hovering over their record and selecting the edit or suspend options. Suspended users are moved to the "Suspended" tab, where you can later unsuspend or remove them if needed.
  • Editing User Attributes: You can change user attributes such as department, location, and roles (e.g., user, contributor, or admin) by clicking the edit pencil next to a user record. After making changes, click "Apply" to update the user information.

Maximizing Onboarding Success

The User Management tab, combined with Express Activation and the Identify features, is designed to help you efficiently manage your onboarding process and ensure as many employees as possible are activated and contributing to your advocacy program.

By effectively utilizing these tools, you can capture valuable external engagement data and drive program success.
