- Complete the share process.
Best practices when resharing content
While resharing content increases the content’s visibility and reach, it can also have the opposite impact and hurt your rapport, make you appear as if you’re spamming your audience, and start to decrease engagement on your social posts.
It’s essential to keep these best practices in mind when you reshare content.
- Choose different social networks. If you already shared content to LinkedIn, try sharing to X or Instagram to reach a different audience.
- Update share copy. Always change the copy, so it’s not identical to your previous shares.
- Share at different times. Don’t share the same content at the same time and day.
- Switch up your hashtags. Not only does this increased visibility and audience reach, but it also changes the content from the previous share.
- Change the image. Change the image used with the share to create even more separation from the original. This may not be a possibility, especially if you are promoting an event or content that requires a specific banner or image.
