Invite Colleagues and Earn Referral Points

You can invite colleagues into EveryoneSocial yourself, without going through an Admin, and you earn referral points on the leaderboard when they join. This article covers where the invite lives and how the points work.

Where to invite from

The Invite Colleagues widget sits in the right sidebar of your home page, alongside your profile card and the leaderboard. Enter your colleague's work email address and send the invitation from there.

They receive an invitation email and go through the same onboarding as anyone else: accept the terms, choose their department and location, connect a social account, and share their first post.

The headline and message on the widget are written by your program Admin, so the wording you see is specific to your company.

Referral points

Referrals are one of the actions that can carry points on your workspace's leaderboards. Whether they do, and how many, is set by your Admin along with the point values for every other action.

Points normally land once the person you invited has actually joined, not when you send the invitation, so referrals that go unanswered do not score. See How Leaderboards Work and Understanding Leaderboard Point Values.

Who is worth inviting

The people who do well in an advocacy program are usually the ones already posting on LinkedIn without being asked. They have a network, they have opinions, and the program saves them time rather than adding a task.

Beyond that, teams whose work is genuinely interesting from the outside tend to outperform: recruiters, sales, engineering, customer-facing teams, and anyone who speaks at events.

FAQ

I do not see the Invite Colleagues widget.

Some workspaces turn self-serve invitations off, so invitations come from Admins only. Ask your program Admin whether that is the case for you.

Can I invite someone outside my company?

No. EveryoneSocial workspaces are for your own organization, and invitations are expected to use company email addresses.

My colleague never got the invitation.

Ask them to check their spam folder first. If it is not there, your Admin can resend it from Admin > Invitations, where sent invitations are listed. See Invite Users to Join EveryoneSocial.

Do I get points if they never finish onboarding?

Generally no. Someone who accepts but stops before connecting an account shows as Partially Onboarded and has not completed the join.
