View Performance on a Share You Made

Once you have shared a post, EveryoneSocial keeps track of how it did. You can see the numbers on the post itself without leaving your timeline. This article covers where to find them and how to read them.

The Shared button

After you share a post, its button changes from Share to Shared. That button is a split button with two options in its dropdown.

• View Performance opens the results for your share of that post.
• Share Again reopens the share screen so you can post it to another network, or to the same one later with different copy.

The Shared state is specific to you. Your colleagues see their own state on the same post.

What the numbers mean

• Clicks. How many people clicked the link in your share. This is the most reliable number on the screen, because it is measured directly.
• Engagements. Reactions and comments on your share.
• Impressions. How many times your share was seen.

Seeing everything at once

View Performance answers "how did this one do". For the whole picture, use Activity in the top navigation. It shows your shares, impressions, clicks, and engagements over a date range you choose, with tabs for Scheduled Shares, Past Shares, and My Posts.

To see the people behind the numbers rather than the numbers themselves, use Network. It lists who engaged with your shares, which is where the useful follow-up conversations come from. See Building Your Network.

Sharing a post again

Good content does not stop being good after one post. Sharing again is worth doing when:

• You shared to one network and want it on another.
• The first share did well and the topic is still current.
• You want to try a different angle using another share copy option.

Leave time between the two, and change the copy. The same words posted twice in a week reads as automation to both your network and the algorithm.

FAQ

Why are my numbers lower than what LinkedIn shows me?

Impressions are estimated from engagements rather than pulled from the network, so the two will not match. Clicks and engagements are counted directly and should track closely.

How soon do results appear?

Engagement data is collected on an ongoing basis rather than instantly. A share posted minutes ago will show little or nothing. Check back later in the day.

I shared natively on LinkedIn rather than through EveryoneSocial. Will it show here?

Your Network tab surfaces engagement from your LinkedIn activity, but per-share performance in EveryoneSocial covers shares made through EveryoneSocial.

The button still says Share after I shared. Why?

Usually the share did not complete, most often because the social connection expired partway through. Open Account Settings, check your connected accounts, and reconnect if needed. See Connect to LinkedIn.
